Abnormal bowel movements
Abnormal bowel movements are hard to define because there are many schools of thought when it comes to determining the definition of a normal bowel movement. Having a normal bowel movement should be a natural process that requires very little effort. Simply put, you shouldn't have to think much about regular bowel movements, or make an effort to have one, they should happen on a regular basis.
We are all unique, and as such will have our own scale of normality when it comes to bowel movements. But, even with this difference in normality, there are some signs that your bowel movements are abnormal. For this discussion and any others dealing with your health, any abnormalities should be discussed with your doctor.
Any abnormalities in your bowel movements can give an insight into your overall health. You don't have to be obsessed, but paying attention to your bowel movements is important when monitoring your health. When you determine what your normal is , get to know what to look for in the color, consistency, shape and frequency of the bowel movement. This will help you recognize when something is not right.
If you are not consuming a good healthy bowel friendly diet daily, it is almost imposable to determine what normal should be. If you consume a lot of processed, drive through, take out foods, a normal bowel movement frequency may be every two or three days. Then when you do eat a good meal with grains, fruits and veggies it make you think there is something wrong. When in fact it is only your bowel trying to clean itself out.
It is sad, but true not many of us are enlightened with the knowledge of good health and good living. Sometimes, people indulge in eating habits that may hamper their digestion in the long run. We go through life feeling bad, feeling sorry for ourselves, and spending money on visits to the doctor and really all we need is to consume a healthy diet and let nature take over.
Due to this, many times the bowel movements get affected in an adverse way. Most people think that one bowel movement each day is healthy. This may not be so, as you can never set a deadline on the way the body functions. Many times people may have faster metabolism and may have bowel movements twice a day. Some people may have a lower metabolism rate and may have one bowel movement every two days.
Instead of thinking about abnormal bowel movements, think about what you have to do to start having normal, regular bowel movements. Just get off the trash food and get on that good healthy high fiber diet to eliminate those abnormal bowel movements.
