How Do You Get Warts
How do you get warts is a simple question and it can be answered clearly and precisely. But, first you need to know a little
about warts. This will include what types of warts are there and what causes warts?
What Types Of Warts?
The common wart or Verruca Vulgaris appears as thickened bumps called papule or plaques. These warts will have a rough surface
and some times will have small tiny spots. These spots are from blood vessels that have clotted. The hands, ebows and knees are the most common
places for these warts to appear.
Flat warts are normally smoother looking and have a flat top. They will have a skin or brown color. The face of women is the
most common place for these warts to be seen. Shaving can easily spread these warts. How do you get warts will be answered below.
Plantar warts most often are on the bottom of the feet. These thickened lumps can be confused with corns or calluses.
Frequently having thrombosed blood vessels will cause them to appear as black dots. When these warts are located in the load bearing areas of the
foot they can be very uncomfortable. They can be widespread on the foot or feet. Due to the fact that they tend to grow into the skin rather than
outward as other warts, they can be harder to remove.
Genital warts, as per the name, appear in the genital peri-anal skin. The appearance of the genital warts will vary. They
can have the appearance of the common wart or sometimes they are skin colored, small papule. The size will vary from tiny papule to much larger
typically warty growths. Occasionally, they will be pigmented. A subgroup of these warts caused by HPV 16 and 18 have been named Bowenoid
papulosis. This particular subgroup has a small chance of becoming cancerous. Some of the these have been associated with carcinoma of the
cervix, Bowenoid papulosis and Bowen's disease.
What Causes Warts?
HPV or the Human Papilloma Virus causes warts. This is a microscopic virus, which invades and infects the skin. Although, this
virus is very common, as viruses go, it is invisible to the human eye. So if you can't see it is very difficult to know if you have HPV unless
you see visible signs such as warts on the skin surface, or get medical testing for the virus.
So, How Do You Get Warts?
Warts or the HPV virus are highly contagious. The virus that causes warts is acquired through breaks in the skin. They can be
contacted simply by going barefoot in a locker room or any public area, or just by using some other person's comb or hairbrush. Flat warts can
spread if they are picked, trimmed, bitten, or touched.
Warts on the face can be spread while shaving. These warts most often do not cause any pain or itching. Just leave these warts
alone, and they will normally disappear in a year or two, even without any treatments. If these warts don't become bothersome, there is really no
reason to attempt to do anything about them.
Hopefully this will provide the answer to the question, how do you get warts?
