Total Fitness

Total Fitness is the goal.

 

Total fitness is our ability to properly function with alertness and appropriate energy levels over the course of our normal daily activities.  If you are not mentally alert during your day or don't have the energy to accomplish your daily tasks you are properly not fit.

Even though there are can be physical or even mental problems that can cause you to be unfit, the most likely problem is your life style.  You don't eat properly, you don't get enough sleep and you properly are not getting enough exercise.  Eating improperly is very simple thing to correct.  If you get enough physical activity everyday you will probably sleep more and be more alert.

Many people go through life thinking about those things they want to accomplish, but for some reason those things never get done.  This includes total fitness, changing their lifestyles and becoming    physically and mentally fit.

Achieving your dreams and aspirations of being fit is not some great unattainable goal.  It is something that can be done just like eating an elephant, one bite at a time. It takes time and effort, but if you set achievable goals it is right there waiting for you.  You don't want these goals to be to hard or to easy, you want them to be just right.

If you try to do to much weight training your muscles will fail and then you will feel like a failure.  If you reduce your caloric intake to much you will not have the energy to exercise.  The whole point is to maintain balance, consume enough of the proper foods and liquids, do aerobic training and weight training.  This will most likely improve your sleep habits and thus increase your daily energy levels. 

Setting your total fitness goals is the first of your short term goals.  Where do you want to be one year from now?  What do you have to do to accomplish this yearly goal?  You should have some short term goals that are achievable.  This could be something as simple as to stop eating those five or six burgers each week.  Walking that first complete mile without resting.  Jogging that first mile. Setting these short term goals is not rocket science.  Set them up as weekly, monthly or six months and make them goals that you can achieve, you will need some positive feedback to keep you going.

Every year we Americans gain more and more weight, and yet more and more diet plans, quick weight loss schemes, over priced exercise programs, and over hyped methods that are going to make us look or feel like stars appear on TV and The Internet.  You don't need this or even want it.  What you need to do is choose a plan that will make you healthier and fit. 

Total fitness is your goal. Exercising and eating healthy foods will help you sleep better and feel better. It will also boost your immune system and give you more energy.  It is your chose, no one can do it for you, get started today.
